My name is Dominique Drake, and I am one of the trainers certified by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission to teach what most servers & managers call "ABC Classes."
This is the class that you are required to complete in order to receive your ABC Card or 5-Year Server Permit from the TABC (Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission). The state of Tennessee requires managers & servers of alcohol to obtain this permit in order to serve liquor by the drink in their restaurant.
I have almost 13 years experience in the restaurant industry. I have served, managed, and bartended so I have a wide range of knowledge to pass on. It has been my pleasure to serve the Chattanooga area by providing ABC Classes for nearly 3 years now. Cost for class is $70. Bring a Pen and a valid I.D.
Bring your $20 application fee, & I will
pick up your card & deliver a copy to your manager!
The Process
Step1- Successfully complete one of these "ABC Classes".
Step 2- The State requires you to pay the TABC a $20 application fee. Payment must be either a Cashiers check or money order ( they DO NOT accept cash or personal checks) & turn in your Yellow Application to obtain your 5- year permit or "ABC Card"
Another Option- I am more than happy to pick up your card for you. Bring an additional $20 (cash works for me) and fill out some additional paperwork & I will pick up your card, fax a copy to your restaurant, and mail the original to your address. (Now That's Service!)
You have 61 days from your HIRE date to have a copy of your card in your managers possession.
Don't wait till the last minute to take your class. TABC Requires 5 days to process & input your permits into their system. Thankfully it doesn't usually take that long but be prepared encase it does.

YOU HAVE 365 Days to Pick up your card from the TABC once you have completed the course. If you forget... Yes you have to re-take the class & re-pay your fees.
To Obtain a REPRINT if you can't locate your ABC CARD...
Reprints cost $10
Take a $10 cashiers check or money order downtown to 540 McCallie ave and refill-out a yellow application & they can print you another copy.
RENEWING Your ABC- permit
Your ABC Card is valid for 5 years.
To renew your card you must once again successfully complete an ABC Class. You may take the class anytime during the year that your card is scheduled to expire. That way your card will be waiting in the system to be issued at your convenience.
